High school

First period - Earth Space Science

This class is worth 1 earth space science credit or 1/2 general science and 1/2 astronomy.

The study of space and Earth is important to students and non-students alike. It is in the studying of space and Earth that one can truly see the majesty of the Creator and get a small glimpse of what the Lord can do with just a word.

In this class,  while we study everything under the earth, on the earth, over the earth and beyond, you will add to your Biblical worldview. You will be able to think critically about what you believe and begin to defend your belief.  This will be accomplished by reading, watching videos, doing projects in and out of class, listening to music, leading a short devotion at least once, and doing a variety of writings.

Second period, first semester - Critical Watching

Students will watch assigned well-known movies and selections from shows at home each week and complete discussion questions sent home.  Classes will be discussion-based, focusing on becoming aware of the messages and intentionalities that film-makers imbed in their work.  We are seeking with this class to unmask the Trojan horse of media that has stormed our lives for too long.

Second period, second semester - Economics

This will be a 1/2 credit course in which we will explore economics concepts on a national level and how that affects personal decisions.  There will be a research paper written in conjunction with this course.

Third period - Play

Students will gain an understanding of the theatrical production process by participating in specific performances to be presented to the Co-op and the public. Time will be spent rehearsing lines, learning basic techniques and skills of performance, voice, movement, set design, costuming, make-up, lighting, special effects, and promotion/publicity.
